Press Release: Publicitas Switzerland rebrands its digital department to NewBase



Publicitas, the Swiss based media and advertising services consultancy, has rebranded its Swiss Digital operations to join its global brand, NewBase, in the latest move of its worldwide rebranding campaign.

The name change underlines the company’s identity as an independent, technology-enabled media consultancy. NewBase Digital Switzerland will continue to work with leading media, technology, data and market research to support the Publicitas Switzerland commercial activity and drive sales for clients. Publicitas’ traditional media operations remain branded as Publicitas and will continue to operate unchanged.


From its traditional media beginnings, NewBase has transitioned to an independent, full service company providing strategic input across all advertising channels, combining its heritage in media with the latest agile technology solutions to reach audiences. Joining the global brand enables the Swiss Digital operation to benefit from NewBase’s strategic tech developments and partnerships.
Joerg Nuernberg, Group CEO, explains “This rebrand signals the next step in our story. We have redefined ourselves as an independent company driving change and shaping the future of the industry. NewBase Digital Switzerland will be headed by Dr. Margarethe Dopf. Margarethe (Maggie) joined Publicitas as team leader Account Management in September 2015 and has successfully built up the department in that time, she was promoted to head of Digital Switzerland on 1 August 2017. She has many years of digital marketing experience including the successful management of challenging projects focusing on cross-media campaigning, social media, websites and mobile applications, all supported by her PhD thesis “Public Relations under the influence of social media”. She is also actively involved in IAB diploma courses in Digital marketing.


Commenting on the developments and energy of NewBase combined with the Publicitas know how Maggie says: “This is an exciting time for our young team, with the NewBase digital-first mindset I am looking forward to taking our business to the next level. In recent years, we have developed into a full-service agency with strong programmatic expertise.
